I enjoyed staying there. I got a very
good rate (about $35 a night)
for a large, well furnished room
with a view and a varied and decent
free buffet breakfast. It's not located
in The center of BKK, but the hotel boat
service to points on the other side
of the river is free. Thus, plus for cost value of the room and food and for
the boat service and the river view;
minus for the location ouside the center and for the large thai tour groups and banquets(not that many but enough to notice.) I paid more for The Royal Hotel, which has a better location but is worse in nearly every other way. What else are you considering?

thanks for the info... the last time i was in Bangkok was 1969, on r & r from
vietnam. knowing nothing about the hotels i thought i would check as northwest airlines has a special that gives air and hotels for a nice price.
again, thanks for your input...

I'm booked to stay there the end of this month and I'm curious also.I booked online from thaifocus and got rate of approx 35 for 2 inclusive of breakfast and tax.I was told i would have river view but when I called to reconfirm with the hotel I was told I'm booked in standard no riverview.I'm not sure how I'll handle this since my fax with credit info I wrote in riverview and have e-mails from thaifocus stating riverview.I think maybe I'll try to get them to put us in riverview when we get there.
