Royal Nepal Airlines

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever taken this airline recently from Kathmandu to Bangkok..We are in the process of booking our flights and they have selected Royal Nepal Airlines for that leg of the trip..I have not read alot of good things about them...Anyone have any opinions? Thanks.

Lonely Planet Nepal advises using ANY other airline, if possible, due to frequent cancellations.
We gave up on visiting Kathmandu after reading warning on government travel web sites for US, Australia, and NZ.

Thai Air flies between Bangkok and Kathmandu; Singapore Air flies between Singapore and Bangkok. Both are much better airlines than Royal Nepal Airlines.

We aren't going until October and are hoping that things will settle down by then in Nepal. We are only stopping there for 4 days after a 2 week tour of India. If there is an advisory put out by the Canadian Government at that time, then that part of the itinerary will be cancelled..So hopefully things will straighten out by then...But as for Royal Nepal Airlines, that is who the company uses between Nepal and Bangkok and they said they have never had a problem with them...So we will just have to wait and see! Thanks and any other input is also appreciated.

We took Royal Nepal from Delhi to Kathmandu in December, with no problem other than a 30 minute delay. However, I have read posting on LP Thorn Tree of frequent cancellations.

RNAC is really hit and miss. I've flown them many times, and most times it's on time (or atleast no longer than 1 hr delayed), and everyonce in a while it's really delayed. I once got stuck in Delhi for 24 hours. It wasn't a huge issue for me as I was living in Ktm at the time, but if you are a tourist and time is valuable, RNAC is not the most reliable.

The bkk-ktm does seem more reliable than the del-ktm sector though (from personal experience).
