rkkwan's Chiang Mai photos, May 2015

Took a quick 4d/3n trip with wife and parents from Hong Kong to Chiang Mai. Not much of a trip report to write, but here are the photos of mainly the lovely Anantara Resort & Spa and the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.

I have many more photos at the Elephant Nature Park, the highlight of our trip, which will come later.

I didn't do much preparation for this trip, but the Anantara is really beyond my expectation. Beautiful architecture, nice 34meter pool (for only 82 rooms, so never crowded), nice food and drinks. And despite the fact that we got it through a Cathay Pacific Holidays package for fairly cheap, they still treat us the same. A complimentary birthday cake upon arrival just because I mentioned it in my reservation for dining at their "The Service 1921", which was built as the British Consulate in Chiang Mai.

And it was extremely convenient. Just steps from the Arusarn Market and Night Bazaar. Yet, once inside, it's totally tranquil. Really glad I picked this over the much bigger Shangri-La, which was just slightly cheaper in a package.

Very hot. In the 90's each afternoon. Only places to be are the pool and massage parlors during that time.

Looking forward to hopefully more ENP pictures. It was the most magical place on our first trip to Thailand (in 2006) and continues to be. So glad you felt the same. Looks like a great trip!

I clicked on the link but no photos. Is there something mysterious which I've missed?

Looking forward to seeing these. Apolgies for being "tech challenged"!

The link should work. No idea why it won't load. But I have uploaded photos from the Elephant Nature Park, and created new links:

Overall Folder:

Chiang Mai (mostly Anantara and Doi Suthep), same album as previously posted:

NEW! Elephant Nature Park:

Just want to say the ENP is really worth going. Cost is not cheap, at 4,000 Baht per person, including transportation and buffet lunch. But one has to see it as a donation to support what they're doing, rather than as entertainment fee.

Their official site is: http://www.elephantnaturepark.org

Thanks for posting your ENP photos. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much as it's a place I often recommend.

Thank you for posting this TR. Your pics are very nice and it seems you all had a great time. You seem to show how beautiful and special Asia is. How long is the flight?
