Ritz Carlton Scoop

If staying on the club level, is the Marina view better than the city view in your opinion?

Also, location-wise, how far of a walk is it the restaurants in Clarks Quay and Boat Quay?

How far to walk to Orchid Rd. shopping?

Thanks

Yes the Marina view is much better. They have a great bath tub that overlook the marina and the view is quite spectacular while bathing. Club lounge is great, a bit small but good food and snack.

Nearby, walking distant, restaurants that I like are Morton's(next door at the Oriental), Ah Yat and a few other hotel run restaurants.

Orchid road, I would get a cab and that takes 15 - 20 minutes to the middle of Orchid road so I guess walking is quite a long haul!

If you're reasonably fit you can walk to all the locations from the RC. Taxis are pretty cheap however.

The Oriental next door is about to close for a few months for a total refurb, but I think Moretons is remaining open

We were just at the RC there in August.
I think all of the club rooms have marina views, or so I was told? I know that doesn't make sense since there are two sides of a hallway. Maybe the rooms on the other side were not considered "club". There are a few floors of rooms that have access to the club lounge. The bathrooms are fabulous with a great view. You do need to take a cab to most things and there can be a lot of traffic, but it's not too bad.

To get to boat quay, walk along the esplanade to the merlion and from there, take the underpass which will lead you to the fullerton hotel and then boat quay (about 15 mins walk). Walk along the stretch of restaurants and pubs at boat quay and you will find the next underpass which will lead you to clarke quay (another 10 mins). The walks are quite nice and short but weather in Singapore is pretty hot and humid so you might want to consider taking a cab if you don't want to get sweaty.
Orchard Road is a 10-20 mins taxi ride away depending on traffic(about SGD$6).
A very good choice in staying at the ritz. Very nice bathroom esp with a view of the marina. You might want to consider getting the butler drawn bubble bath which I hear is pretty popular. Enjoy your stay in Singapore.
