Hey, here's an idea.... buy a Thai lottery ticket before you leave! A friend of mine from Chicago is on his way back to Bangkok (he just left there a week ago) to claim his 6 million baht prize!! You, too, might get lucky.

I really think you'd like Indigo if you like French food.

When we go for Ital we like the antipasti, pasta and meat dishes , not just pizza.

After the weekend mkt, we just hung out for a bit.. P&K took a walk over to central Chitlom and Paragon.....They report that the shop Indigo has returned to fl 3 at paragon... It is a great little shop with natural fibre clothing, etc. it was not there last year.
A thai friend came to visit us about 2:30 and we went next door and all had bagels as a late lunch..

We went to the club for drinks and dinner last night.

Today, Monday, we headed out about 10 to Lim Silver on Orieental Lane. K bought quite a few things--- I even got a small silver pill box with a "diamond" on top. The girls got things too... You can't beat either their quality or price.
from there we headed over to Silom village to pick up some shoes which had been ordered. K bought an additional pair and so did K..... And from there we went to MBK--the girls first exposure.

It is not my favorite place honestly, but they do have lots of stuff, read "crap". We managed to find two watches for our grandsons--- Hope they operate until at least jan 1. K got a replacement IPad cover for 500 B ($15)-- $50 at home.

Lastly we bought the annual additional suitcase for P and us to share for dirty clothes going home... She gets 2 bags on Qatar air.

Skytrain back to Chitlom...girls went to amari mall next door to browse.

Club for drinks and dinner tonight.

You "can" walk from the sky train (silom), I often do when I am staying IN town. It's about a 5-7 minute(hot) walk.... I am lazy when it comes to cabs (drives D mad!)... I like to walk most places if i can.
I like Silom village, i usually go each time i am in BKK.

You(rhkkmk)took the skytrain back from MBK to Chitlom then walked to the Marriott??? Was there an intervention??
There are those bank of stairs as you walk out the doors of MBK to the skytrain platforms then more on the way up to the platform lol. Never mind the Chitlom to Marriot trail lol.My mental pictures are hilarious lol. That alone is worth three chocolate croissants the next morning

Let's say there was some colorful language at the fight of stairs to get to the platform . Then he found the escalator, so he didn't have to climb. But , going out he walked down. Karen

Not worth the effort to go to the new JT restaurant on suriwongse... It was ok but not fantastic... The pomelo salad continues to be bkk's best.
