reserving hotels online

I've used www.asia-hotels.com and have had good luck. For the hotels I've been interested in, they've had better prices than circleofasia.com. I also used laosrooms.com and the other names they operate under to book pre-paid rooms for very low prices.

I recently booked my Thailand trip online and found the rates throught the hotels directly were as good or sometimes better than other sites. They only required a credit card number to hold the reservation, no charge incurred at the time of reservation and am able to cancel withing 2-3 days without a penalty.

Surprisingly, I've been finding that the rates on Travelocity and directly on the hotel's websites for November in Hong Kong and Bangkok are just as good if not better than the rates on the Asian sites such as circleofasia and asiatravel.

I was a little distressed over the high prices in Hong Kong for November so I bid one of my nights on Priceline.com.hk, the Asia Priceline site, and got the 4* Sheraton in Kowloon for HK650, about 1/2 what Travelocity had for the same night.

There's not a lot of info out there on Priceline Asia but you can check out their equivalent of bidding for travel at http://pub34.ezboard.com/bpricelineasiadiscussions
