Still planning different phases of my Thai trip and now looking to book a riverside hotel for our final night in BKK before flying home. I see that the Marriott is a favourite of yours and appears to be within my budget (for 1 night at least!). I just wanted to check that I am looking at the right hotel....

you are correct....that is the address....name is bangkok marriott resort and spa....
formerly known as marriott riverside

it would be a perfect place for a final nite in bkk.....the access to the highway to the airport is quite easy....

Our flight home leaves in the evening (8.00 pm'ish). Do you know what the check-out time is at the Marriott and what sort of charge we can expect to pay to extend to say 5pm check-out?

No influence whatsoever. Sort of like a grouchy uncle who always overstays his welcome. The Marriott is real;ly nice.
