Pro and cons of traveling alone to Uzbekistan
Dears! I'm female. I decided to make a solo trip to Uzbekistan instead of going there in group. Who had a similar experience? Any recommendations what to do or not in Uzbekistan?

I am female. I traveled to Uz with a tour group, but I see no reason why you should not travel solo, at least to the major sites. As for what to do, Odyssey has a good guidebook, and Lonely Planet has one for Central Asia.

You're right. My first travel there was in group with service of tour operator. Finally I've found that maybe it is better to visit Uzbekistan alone. I think It will be my first experience of solo travel.

I was a male solo traveler in Uzbekistan in November. It was really safe and easy to travel. We were there to paddle rivers but also really enjoyed visiting mosques and other cultural sites. The subway system in Tashkent was really cool and worth checking out.

We went in November because that's when we could take time off. We started in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and then went to Osh and then drove through Tajikistan on our way to Uzbekistan. We also spent a few days in Samarkand.
Yes the warmer season would have been nice but November was fine and we didn't see many other tourists.

We went to both Samarkand and Tashkent. I liked both for different reasons - most of all to visit Mosques. We also visited Charvak Reservoir near Tashekent and did some whitewater kayaking.
I think it's becoming more popular since it's easier to get a visa, safe, and there are comfortable accommodations.
