great trip....you'd hate the usa where most people get 2 weeks vacation per year and if you have worked in a place for 40 years you might get 4 weeks....public employees...oh well...they do get a bit more with holidays that no one has ever heard of, etc, etc...

have a great time....don't jusdge your whole trip by the weekend market...it is our least favorite...

Cosmo -- I don't know if you're interested in Ayutthaya, but Ratt is doing an airport run with us as well and when I asked about a detour before our hotel, she suggested taking us there. For our schedule it seems a good idea rather than breaking up another day to go once we're in the city.

Thanks Hipvirgochick, yes thats the plan - and also the problem, if you scan back through the previous messages on this topic, most are of the opinion that we'll be dead from the overnight flight - but were still thinking of doing it (and probably paying the price the next day ha)
We will be going there with Ratt on the 24th Sept - when are you arriving? - who ever does the airport to Aytthutha trip first could post their feedback here - which would help the other intereted?

Cosmo - Oh, yes, I did read you'd be getting in early morning. We will be coming in later from Chiang Rai so there won't be a problem. However, I have experienced those overnight flights and still try to wander for a few hours, then take a mid-day nap and up again for more. That works for me Our trip isn't until next February, I just never stop planning!
