Anyone has experience using priceline for BKK hotels. The site lists the general area that I want to stay at.
In the US, I have had a great experience getting some of the best hotels at reasonable rates.

Hi pg. Many of us here have used priceline with good results. Do a search of this board. Also check put www.priceline.com.sg & www.priceline.com.hk for Singapore & Hong Kong websites. They both have cheaper deals regularly than the main website. I got the Marriott Riverside in Bangkok on the Singapore site, for Dec for around US54 per night inc fees,taxes etc. The Marriott is often recommended here. Good luck.

I'd only bid on 5 star hotel in either the River or Sukumvit areas.
Last year we stayed at the Shangri La Hotel in the Riverside area and the JW Marriott in the Sukumvit areas.

Some day I will gamble and take a chance on trying to get the Marriott on the River via Priceline.com

do not bid on priceline until you have read and done your research on biddingfortravel.com....this is a companion site and of great help...

just now there does not seem to be much traffic on priceline for bkk...

i agree to only bid ofr 5* properties in both the riverside/silom and sukhumvit areas to avoid disappointment with quality of hotels...for example...when bidding for 4* in riverside some have gotten the holiday inn silom which is far inferior to the marriott riverside and sheraton orchid all of which are priceline rated as 4*...pricelines ratings are not always accurate...

in august, i bid for 3 nights bkk riverside 4 star and got the Marriott. wonderful hotel, we will stay there again next year.

2 weeks later, i bid 5 star bkk on the river
for the last 3 nights of our stay and got the
Shangri-la.
i tried later to add another room for the 4 star marriott during the same time and
at the same price $65 and it was not available.... it ended up working our because the marriott has two queen beds in the rooms...
we liked the marriott better than the shangri-la.
we will use priceline in the future...but as bob said (he was the one who helped us use priceline)...do your research and be prepared....

not all rooms in the marriott have two queen beds....i have only seen king and twin beds there in 10 stays...

Is breakfast buffet included in the priceline rate at the Marriot Spa and Resort?

If not, how much is it(tax inclusive) per person?

On www.asiavoyages24.com, I can get the Marriott for USD93 and that's including breakfast for 2 persons.

Any feedback is well appreciated.

breakfast are never "included" with priceline reservations, although i cannot rule out that they would not include it if it is standard fare: i.e. i stayed at the savoy in prague last year and they (the hotel) included it with my priceline reservation...it would not be for the bkk marriott however....

be very careful with the 4* bids on priceline for bkk as you usually get the holiday inn on silom which is inferior to the marriott in everyway except location....the HI is what priceline is giving mostly these days...
i am staying there in june using priceline (HI that is) for $45+...one nite only to try it...i am upgrading for an additional $25 to executive floor (done directly with the hotel)...

i think the buffet is about $12.50 at the marriott....i prefer to buy pastry in the bakkery on the ground floor and have it in my room...cost about $2....the buffet is far too much in that hot climate, although i am having it for each of my 4 stays in may/june, because it comes free with my res from www.huahin.20m.com---they also are offering a stay 6 nites pay for 5 nites at the moment which reduces my daily cost for the six nites to about $89....total for 6 nites 21,500B....
