I love Toyoko Inns and stay at them frequently, but you may want to know that the company has been found guilty of a lot of bad behavior (e.g., turning mandated space for disabled parking into extra rooms). The Matsue property (which I have stayed at) is the site of one of their most egregious transgressions:

Their boss dude has appeared weeping and apologizing on TV--apologizing not for being a scumbag, but for getting caught.

someotherguy - I'm sorry to read that. However, it seems that happened in '04, and the guy isn't in charge any more. Any info on the current boss? The chain has good prices for single rooms, and a usable English-language website....

hawaiiantraveler - yes, patience, lol! I was trying to get country A wrapped up before moving on to country B - clearly a bad idea. But I've now made enough progress with Japan to get started on reservations for Korea.

I am still trying to find site for the Gora Lalaca - japanican etc. don't list them as a possibility - doesn't appear that Toyoko Inn's have any hotels in the Hakone area - not finding any smaller/less expensive on any sites i.e. Expedia etc.? Any links, etc. would be appreciated. Dates are 10/21 2 nights 2 adults. Thanks, Barb

Did you even bother to look for it? If you paste Gora Lalaca into Google, the first hit gets you their English web page.

Think twice, my friend, when spelling the type of doktor that you'd see.
