Places to eat in Pratunam Area

Hi,

We will be going to BKK in 2 weeks and staying at the Indra Regent Hotel in Pratunam. From what I have read there doesn't seem to be much in the way of restaurants etc to go to in the area? Can anyone recommend some places?

Any help appreciated

cheers!

For cheap eats there is a good food court in the building directly opposite the hotel. Called SO Food Court it is upstairs. Great food at very reasonable prices, friendly staff, nice and cool with all glass along one side so you can sit and watch the traffic go by as you eat.

I cant help ya on spacific resteraunts but if you look at your map you are only a longish block away from world center mall and bangkoks "mall districta". there are tons of resteraounts there... if you walk torwards the mall you will pass a some seafood resteraunt (the seafood looks really fresh)

if you walk an extra block you can eat at the upscale resteraunts at the upscale hotels such as the four seasons..

there is a burger king in the area, if you get a Wopper craving.

We stayed at the D'Ma Pavilion for 10 days last month. We really loved being in the Pratunam area for local color, but finding restaurants for dinner in the evening was somewhat of a problem. As the sun goes down, the streets become lined with hundreds of food stalls and makeshift sidewalk cafes. The food smelled (and looked delicious) but we were afraid to try it. Instead, we headed toward the Chitlom area for light dinners in the mall food courts and hotel restaurants, as one of the posters above suggested. We also ate dinner in our hotel restaurant several times, and we found the meals entirely satisfactory. Of course, you can always take a cab to one of the many restaurants recommended on this board. We especially enjoyed the Indian restaurant atop the Rembrandt Hotel.
