Phuket Diving
We will be going to Phuket and Phi Phi in late June and would like to do some diving.
We are recreation divers with 2 dozen dives
logged. Will diving be safe this time of
year? How is the visibility? Where can
you recommend as far as dive sites? We booked at PP Princess for 1 night. Is this a good hotel?
Also, has anyone out there ever stayed at
Kamala Beach Estates on Phuket? If so, please comment.
Regards

I enjoyed the P P Princess. Their Waterfall Restaurant is on the beach and is very good (not spectacular, but very good.) There is also a nice bar pool. It's also convenient to the "town," if that interests you.

Around Phuket the best dive site would be the Simillan Islands - Depth about 50 - 70 foot for a good dive. Being close to an Island in June will also be a bonus as the sea can get rough.
If the weather permit I would try to dive the "Burma Banks". Open sea, underwater mountain with depths around 120 - 130 foot deep. Again only if the weather permit.
Visibility should be good near the islands.
