Pattaya/BKK Trip countdown
Departing for Pattaya/BKK on 1/16. Would like some suggestions for restaurants in Pattaya. I have plenty for BKK. We enjoy Chinese, Japanese, Thai. Prefer nice places.

not asian but fantastic european foods are the following:
Pascal's which is directly behind the marriott in pattaya---very elegant and delicious
Bruno's---just down the hill from your hotel....very nice
the lobster basket out on the walking street in town on the water side.....excellent thai food....
all the restaurants at the sheraton....nice to just go there and walk around.....go for lunch....eat up high on the terrace or the bar/terrace down near the beach....lovely...
an olive kind of place....

Here is a link to Pattaya restaurants.

You have lots of choices and ethnic variations in all price ranges!
I don't care for fancy places, two restaurants called "Kiss Restaurant" are okay and cheap too! Most of the malls have food courts, supermarkets like Foodland and Tops have in-store restaurants that serve Asian and Western choices. You don't have to pay a lot to get a good meal!
Several restaurants have "all you can eat" buffets for breakfast and evening. Lots of choices on the menu for a great price.
(Baht bus rides are only 10 baht! Don't over pay unless it is a custom ride!"
Have fun.

I think the best for Japanese is Kabuto Yakiniku though a while since we have been there, also the Benihana in the Royal Plaza ( Marriott area )but it doesn't have the Japanese 'style' the same as Kubuto which is (was) very nice indeed. Marco Polo at Montien Hotel for Szechuan cuisine though that is really hotel style place.
Ruen Thai for very good Thai food plus Thai classic music and dance performances, also PIC Kitchen.
"Mantra" have Japanese, Chinese, Indian and other cuisines from seperate open 'kitchens', large modern and (if I am allowed to say -'trendy') -North end of the beach road towards Amari . Nice after dinner bar with music. Quite an 'amazing' place. Very large wine cellar but pricey ( as always ).
Opportune perhaps to update a wine price from the stores, bough a good Australia 'Jacobs Creek' Chardonnay yesterday and was THB 540, so that's around US$ 16/18 depending which exchange rate you use. So that gives you a rough idea of stores price.
