Outside Tokyo restaurant in the trees?

Someone told me there is a little town one hour outside Tokyo by train where there are some little tea houses and it looks like you are sitting in the treetops. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Maybe Mount Takao..... - there was an article in the NY Times about it on March 4, 2007. The article was entitled "A Mountain of Tranquility Near Tokyo’s Frenzy."

I don't know that place. But we've been gettiing food from this company for years and years, which has a nice cafe and some events there as well. http://www.alishan-organic-center.com/en/cafe/pics.html

I think you might be talking about this restaurant, Ukai Toriyama

http://www.tokyo.to/ukai-toriyama/index.html

kuranosuke has visited this place and had a nice dinner there. He may comment if he is home and not on the road and if he sees this thread.
Hope this helps!

Aloha!

Thanks Mara and Hawaiiantraveler,
that is the correct place that my friend was recommending, she just couldn't remember the name and is very glad that I found it.

Brilliant and thank you very much.
