Osaka Kanasai to downtown tokyo

I have a huge lay over in Osaka,.flying in from Hanoi.I am suppose to get there at 535am and than fly to tokoyo and leave at 520pm for Los Angeles. A friend suggested I take a train instead of plane to Tokoyo and hang out downtown until it is time for my flight to leave from tokoyo Narita.Since it is frequent flyer miles,I would not lose any money missing that flight,Is this a possibility? could it work.? It would be nice to see Japan for a day if possible. Please help. My son would really enjoy it too. thanks anita

If the KIX-NRT leg is booked along with the NRT-onward flight, you cannot miss the KIX-NRT leg, or the rest of the itinerary will be cancelled.

You can go into Osaka or to Kyoto for the day.

Are you saying if I dont take the Osaki Itami flight to tokoya haneda than they will cancel my tokoyo narita flight to Los angeles portion? I get to tokoyo haneda at1040 and leave from Narita at 520pm. I guess that wont give me enough time in Tokoyo to do anything. Thanks for your help,I was hoping we could do something. anita

Yes, if your ITM-HND leg and the NRT-LAX flights are on the same itinerary, you have to take he ITM-HND leg, or else they'll cancel your NRT-LAX reservations.

If you get to HND at 10:40a, you still have perhaps a couple of hours to walk around central Tokyo before having to get to NRT.
