Ok, I have to ask: what to do people do, that they have a 10 week vacation?

I know this thread has taken a diversion in the last few days, but I haven't had a chance to post what I wanted to...
We are in the opposite boat of many here, and I am really enjoying this thread to get an idea of where we want to be!
We are still young - 28 & 29 (we do feel much older sometimes), and we are really just getting started in life. My fiance has been working in a very successful career for 5+ years, but I am only a year out of law school and am just finishing up a judicial clerkship, so I have not even started my career yet. We are currently in Chicago, but I keep trying to convince my fiance to move to Arizona. Maybe this winter will do it...
We absolutely love to travel and have been lucky enough to do some of it. I was an exchange student for a year in high school, and my father used to work for years at a time in foreign countries, so I got my travel bug early on. I have been to Europe on numerous occasions, to Australia, to Singapore, and just last year took my first trip to HK and BKK (with my fiance this time). We absolutely fell in love with Asia and want to return as often as possible.
We are a little saddened by the fact that we are going to start having kids in the next year or so, which will definitely limit our travel abilities. We joke around about how it will be Disney cruises, American cities, and Western Europe for the next 5-10 years!
We talk and dream about all the travel we want to do. We keep discussing that when our kids go off to college and we are in our 50's, we should do a "soft" retirement from my legal career and his computer career and teach - community college seems to be right up our allies. Then, we can spend 3 months a year traveling. We talk about how we will spend 2 months every summer actually living in one place and the other month traveling around to wherever we want to go. It is so far off though...
That is why I love this board. I get to read the wonderful stories of everyone who is living my dream. Every time we read trip reports or interesting stories here, we say that we can't wait to do that. I just wish it was now! That is why I am obsessing about my honeymoon next June - three weeks in Thailand. It will probably be our last big trip for a number of years, which makes me really sad. I am planning it as best as possible to make it the most memorable trip ever.
And to chime in on the airline mile thing - We have our United visa and charge everything we can each month to get the miles. We bought our business class honeymoon tickets with miles and just realized that we have enough miles still in our accounts to upgrade to 1st class! Talk about a way to start and end the honeymoon...
Anyway, I want to really thank everyone here for continuing to share their experiences. I read this board almost every day, even when I am not planning a trip. I hope to be one of the sage and frequent contributors here in the future, once I have traveled enough to be in the "know."

SJLBK- sounds like you both have a good outlook on things and yes when the little ones come along it will likely be Disney for a number of years- and thats how it should be. Kids love Disney. Now my advice is to bank those FF miles- using a United credit card to buy everything. Then maybe you can take another Asian trip in the not too distant future. Assuming you can leave the little tikes with grandma.

SJLBK - my husband and I are not very different than you. We're in our mid thirties and are still working on our careers. However, the fact that we both love to travel makes it a priority for us. In life, remember that nothing is impossible, so take BillT's suggestions and have fun.
