I have been lucky I guess, living in the Metro Detroit area, you fly Northwest to Asia or you don't go, but my trips have been at least OK, and my last trip to the Philippines was excellent, probably one of the best flight crews I have ever dealt with on the DTW-KIX leg made the flight enjoyable despite weather delays. If you only expect a safe flight, and not luxury on the plane, you will be OK.
