Non Spicy food in Bangkok?.
Can anyone suggest restaurants or dishes to order in restaurants for those of us who don't care for SPICEY food? Going to Bangkok in August. Hopefully will be able to sample local food that is not spicey.

There's lots of Chinese, Western, Japanese restaurants you can try. There's lots of variety in the food malls which serve non-spicy food.
In some restaurants located in hotels they do indicate in the menu how spicy a dish is by the nember of chillis.
You could ask them not to put in any chilli.
For local food ie road side stalls you can try the wanton noodles, beef noodles, chicken rice, fried chicken which are not spicy.
No worries.

There are plenty of places to get food that isn't spicey. Even dishes that normally are hot, you can tell the waiter that you are a foreigner (just say "farang"
and they will cool it down. I've never done this since I love super spicey food but I've been told the restaurants will respect your wishes. As KMLoke said, there are plenty of noodle dishes that are not spicey. Seafood is another good choice (try the Seafood Market, a great restaurant).

First, there are a lot of western cuisine restaurants that aren't spicy. And none of the restaurants that cater to tourists are spicy and if they are they will adjust to your needs. Any Chinese restaurant that serves Cantonese food will also be fine as will Japanese foods. You'll have absolutely no problem.

I recommend the Spice Market at Four Seasons Hotel for Thai food. Although it called "spice", there are many non-spicy dishes. Last time we had lunch there, the waiter was so kind to ask the chef to adjust the spicy of the dishes we ordered. It costs around THB1500 for two persons.
Of course, there are a lot of small local restaurants serving local foods with cheaper price. But I don't suggest to go there in the first 1-2 days of your trip before getting your stomach adjusted for the local favour.

Another suggestion is Je Ngor's Kitchen Sathorn. It's much better environment and cleaner than street stalls but less expensive than hotel restaurants. Check out their website with menus and prices.

For some dishes, the actual price may be 10-20% higher than those listed in the website (may be revised before our recent trip). But the price are very reasonable and the food (especially seafood) are tasty.
The restaurant is located in an office building, but is very popular to locals, not tourists. So, you should print out the address and map on its website (in Thai) so that you can show it to taxi driver/ask the hotel staff to instruct the driver.
