Narita to Yokohama
What is the best way to get from Narita to Yokohama?
I see a bus and a train option. Both seem relatively expensive (around $30- $40 per person one-way).
Are there cheaper options? Between the train and the bus which one is better? Our flight lands in Narita late evening.
Thanks!

A previous post of yours asked about areas to stay in Tokyo - I guess you have decided to stay in Yokohama?
Not sure where you are coming from, so don't know how tired you will be....
Personally I am a budget traveler but depending on the time/convenience I would splurge for the direct route to Yokohama which is the Narita Express at 4290 JPY, no transfers required unlike the other train possibilities.

Hi Mara,
We are staying for 2 nights in Yokohama and 3 nights in Tokyo.
We got a great deal for a good hotel in Yokohama, and hence the decision.
Plus it seems like a good hub to make daytrips to Kamakura etc.
Thanks for the recommendation on the train.

There's a round trip deal on the N'Ex for 4,000Y

The cheapest way would be one of the 1,000Y buses to Tokyo, then train to Yokohama, but it'd be a tough slog.

Hi Travel12, where in Yokahama are you staying?
We booked a hotel right near one of the exits of the Bashamichi station, so we took the train but we landed in Haneda which is nearer to Yokohama. The change at Shin-Yokahama was not difficult.
I did check from Narita (as at one point we thought we'd book a flight into Narita Airport) and that was similarly straightforward with one change at Yokahama rather than Shin-Yokahama.

There is no general best. The timing of your arrival and available trains/buses would determine the convenience.
Direct:
1944 JR
2000 Bus
3600 Limousine
4294(2000) NEX (round trip / 2)
With one transfer:
1364 Tokyo Shuttle-(Tokyo)->JR
1655 Keisei-(Funabashi)->JR
