Narita to Chiba City
I saw on this website that Chiba City looks like a good layover time killer.
http://www.mgnewman.com/narita/index.html#go
I have a 10hr layover at Narita and was interested in going to Chiba City.
I pulled up the JR schedule and it looks like going to Chiba City (around 8am sunday morning) isn't tough. However I dont think that the train stops there on the way back.
Is there another train to take back to Narita around 2-3pm or another mode of transportation to get back to Narita that I don't know about?
Thanks!

There are trains all the time between Chiba and Narita Airport. Use hyperdia.com to check. No problem getting back to Narita Airport at 2 or 3 PM from Chiba station.
However, I find myself wondering if you mean Narita Town rather than Chiba...Mike Newman's website is all about Narita Town, which is a nice place to spend time. There is a nice temple, shops, restaurants, and Boso no Mura was interesting when we went a couple of years ago.

JR Airport Narita Rapid train leaves every hour on the hour from Chiba to Narita Airport, so 2.00 pm train will get you to the airport in around 40 min.
I too think Narita City makes a better layover spot. It's connected to the airport by both JR and Keisei lines, taking about 10-15 min.

I realize that mgnewman page is mostly about Narita City. One of the first suggestions of things to do is to go to Chiba City.
It sounds like there is adequate access to Chiba City. So I guess my next question is, if you had the choice to spend about 6 hrs would it be in Narita City or Chiba City? I enjoy pretty much everything, though I prefer things to be less touristy which I think Narita City could be (I could be completely wrong as well). I'm definitely open to suggestions. Thanks for all your input.
