My Booking Has Been Confirmed...BKK Marriott
I just got an email from huahin.20m.com that our reservation has been confirmed..5990.00 baht for the first 5 nights and 4990 baht for the last night..Including taxes and breakfast for a riverview room..
The deposit is one night which is non refundable..I really don't like that the deposit is non ref..Has anybody ever had any problems if they had to cancel??
Otherwise, i probably better send them my cc number..Just want to know if i should book with them or hoteltravel.com, as they don't charge you anything until 2 weeks prior to arrival, and their cancellation policy is better and they are slightly cheaper (not much, maybe $50.00 for the entire stay)..

We used huahin in booking some of our lodging and have been pleased. In fact we had a change of plans and took a chance and requestd to change our booked hotel (had already paid deposit). They allowed us to change dates without much hassel. They are very fair. I would go for it.

I will only book a hotel with a no refund policy if I have trip cancellation insurance. Otherwise I only book with a liberal cancellation policy. I learned that lesson the hard way when my father died and I ended up losing a huge amount of money.

be careful that your bookings do not get mixed up at the hotel end....they may end up cancelling all of your reservations and you end up on the street...
some have reported delays in getting their money back from these discount agencies....
for this reason i suggest not using them if you are unwilling to sustain a one day forfeiture in the case you have to cancel....

I have booked my reservation with hoteltravel.com
I don't have to pay anything until March 3rd and the price was a little lower than with huahin.com They were really quick with the reservation and emailed the voucher almost immediately..
I am going to email huahin.com and let them know that i don't require the room anymore..I hope it doesn't get mixed up with the other reservation!!

Good idea, i will call the hotel directly..Can they give me that information even though it was booked through a booking agency?? I haven't yet heard back from huahin.com regarding that cancelled reservation...But if the Marriott cancelled my res.wouldn't they contact hoteltravel.com, whom would contact me....Just a thought..

in thailand you never know....that is why it is not a good idea to fool around with things and make changes....often the hotel will not have your reservation on view in the computer until a day or so before...they are all done with codes and delayed posting of names...often the res is just held in the agency name...
did you pay hua hin already?? if so be prepared for a wait to get your money back...this is what others have reported---even as much as 4 months...

I never gave huahin.com my c.c. info..or else i would have never changed the reservation..The only reason i changed the res. was because i liked hoteltravel.com's cancellation policy better..hua hin was holding my res without payment until 29Dec...So maybe it didn't even make it to the hotel yet. Now i am getting paranoid!!! I'm not even telling my husband!!!!

TracyB, Sounds like you are arriving on March 27 and departing on April 2. My wife and I are arriving on March 26 and departing on April 3. Perhaps we can get together for a drink, or whatever? E-Mail me at [email protected] if interested.

Tracy- you can call the Marriott and see if they have your reserv. even if you made it through an agency. I booked through huahin.20m this past July and I called Marriott's 800 number. Also I had made an inquiry with precision first and when I tried to book with huahin they said there was already a reserv. Once I cancelled with the other agency, I was able to book without any problem.
