Mid-range hotels in Karol Bagh, Delhi?

Has anybody heard of or stayed at Singh Sons hotel in Karol Bagh area of Delhi? It's about $65. What can I expect?

Thanks for any info. Lyd

Hi, Lyd-
I'm not familiar with Singh Sons, but I recently stayed at the Hotel Swati Deluxe for a little less and was satisfied. The hotel was basic but clean, with internet access in the lobby and good restaurants in the area. There's even a "vegetarian food court" adjacent that offers 24 hour room service.

It is located across the street from a large hospital in Karol Bagh,so it was fairly easy to find.

There was a nice restaurant called Crossroads, and a South Indian restaurant, can't remember the name, both on the same street as the hotel.

I forgot to ask--if I had a choice, what are the preferred sections of Delhi to stay in? Lyd

We liked Old Delhi. It was less frantic than Connaught Place, which is preferred by many visitors to Delhi. The new metro was being built in Dec 2004 and we were advised to avoid Connaught Pl. We stayed at the Hotel Broadway, which has a fabulous restaurant, called Chor Bizarre, simply the best Indian food we've eaten. The hotel is good value at around US50 but the beds are hard & one really needs to check out a few rooms before deciding on one. Location was brilliant for us. Close to the mosque & markets. I think we'll choose Karol Bagh in March as the shopping is apparently very good there!

Patrica, did you stay in the Singh Sons? And did you mean the Hotel Continental is better than that hotel or other hotels in the area? Thanks for your feedback!

Has anyone heard anything about Pablas International? It's a budget hotel in Karol Bagh - around $35? They provide a complimentary pickup from the airport.

I am right now in the lobby of Singh Sons Hotel. I have stayed here for 2 nights.

The hotel is clean and staff very helpful but it is in the quite side of Karol Bagh. Around 10~15 mintues from Karol Bagh market.

Hurray, at last a response. Many thanks. You say it's quiet - are there restaurants nearby?

Hi there

I am at present staying at Hotel Sri Nanak Continental in Karol Bagh. It is a simple, family like hotel, but quite reasonable and fairly clean, for about US$70 a day. Two blocks from a huge street market!
