Hi, Lyd-
I'm not familiar with Singh Sons, but I recently stayed at the Hotel Swati Deluxe for a little less and was satisfied. The hotel was basic but clean, with internet access in the lobby and good restaurants in the area. There's even a "vegetarian food court" adjacent that offers 24 hour room service.
It is located across the street from a large hospital in Karol Bagh,so it was fairly easy to find.

We liked Old Delhi. It was less frantic than Connaught Place, which is preferred by many visitors to Delhi. The new metro was being built in Dec 2004 and we were advised to avoid Connaught Pl. We stayed at the Hotel Broadway, which has a fabulous restaurant, called Chor Bizarre, simply the best Indian food we've eaten. The hotel is good value at around US50 but the beds are hard & one really needs to check out a few rooms before deciding on one. Location was brilliant for us. Close to the mosque & markets. I think we'll choose Karol Bagh in March as the shopping is apparently very good there!
