Mexican food in Bangkok?

I know my wife will get tired of Thai food after a while and get a craving for Mexican. Any recommendations?

Yep, I also like Senor Picos. The last time I was there, they had a great band from Cuba. A fun evening, for sure.

If you are used to having good Mexican Food, then Senor Pico's won't be good for you. The Thai's don't do Mexican well. I've heard Charlie Brown's is the best in BKK, but haven't tried it. I generally avoid Mexican food in Asia unless I make it myself.

It's NOT fancy, but I just tried Sunrise Tacos a few weeks ago, and it's pretty good. It's run by an American and has quite good burritos, although the rice and beans weren't to my taste.

The restaurant is located in a little strip mall next to Times Square on Sukhumvit Road. That's across from the Robinsons and just a few steps down from the Sheraton Grande, at the Asoke Skytrain station. There are TWO shops in this one place - a take-away stand and a small dining room.

Charlie Brown's used to be good, but I haven't tried them since they changed owners and moved.

I heard from a few friends that live there about Sunrise. They said it was pretty good. Said they had pretty good margaritas too!

My friend Maeng's restaurant has decent Mexican food. It is called "The Little Kitchen." It is on the ground floor of Sukhumvit Suites on soi 13.

If "Coyote" on soi Convent is still open, the food is not too bad.

If You are used to good Mexican food from Southwestern USA, you will be disappointed with Mexican food in Asia.

I lived in Arizona for over 20 years. That's why I never found Mexican food to be any good in BKK or anywhere else for that matter.

I think Bourbon Street off of Sukhumvit, soi 22 has Mexican food on its menu. It's a Louisiana Cajun restaurant....owned/run by a Cajun. It's been there for over a decade. Google it and their menu will pop up. To get there you can take the skytrain to PromPhong station and then a short walk. Happy Travels!

BillT...everyone doesn't like to eat the same kind of food all of the time. I sure don't. I don't even do it at home. Happy Travels!

Crepes and Co is on Soi 12, further down from Cabbages and Condoms.

Doug does have Mexican Food on his menu at Bourbon Street, but it's not that great.

My point here was that I doubt whether one is going to find excellent Mexican food in BKK and the flip side of that is when in Mexico don't expect good Asian food.
