We stayed there a couple of years ago and would not do so again. It is not horrific but you can do much better for the same price. Getting anything fixed which we had to was not easy. You would be ok there but that's all I could say. Good luck!

The hotel is an economy type (about a 2 star) and while the rooms are basic and could use remodeling, they are clean and well maintained. The location was bad until the subway came along and now just a short walk to the nearest station. From the subway you can access the skytrain at several stations. Breakfast is not bad - nothing special - and staff are quite friendly/helpful. There are two buildings, one older than the other. Try to get the newer one as the rooms are somewhat better.
Thaihoteldiscount is a reliable booking site with good rates but has the 3% booking fee. You say they quoted you (frome your other post) $359. Is this for a standard room as the rate shown is 850 baht x 12 = 10200 + 3% = 10506 or about $263.
You might consider deal with the hotel directl at http://www.mandarin-bkk.com/home2.html They might give you a good deal since you are staying for so long. It does't hurt to ask. Just make sure the taxes/service fee of 17.7% are included plus breakfast so you can make a comparision.

charmae, didn't realise you are a fellow Aussie! You might also look at Asia and Indra Regent hotels for reasonable prices. I've stayed at both and they are quite good value for the money and handy too. As for the Aussie dollar, you should try comparing to US dollar or English pound !!! Have fun and come back with any other questions. Cheers!
