Lufthansa-How bad is it?

I know beggers can't be chosers but I have award tickets on hold over Christmas from Detroit-Frankfurt-Delhi on Lufthansa in Coach.

I was wondering if anyone has flown LF to India and wondered how the journey was.
thank you.

I've flown Lufthansa a number of times to and from Europe (from ORD) and have no complaints. I can't imagine that your flt to India would be that much different from those planes/flights that cross the Atlantic.

I took Lufthansa many times already, also to Asia (Thailand and Vietnam).
Maybe worse than Singapore Airlines or Emirates, but better as most US carriers and Air India.
So dont worry, you will be content.

I have flown Lufthansa (coach) many times from India (Bombay and Delhi) and found it to be good. Well its not memorable, but the food was decent (by plane food standards). The service decent. Better than domestic carriers.

The wait in Frankfurt always sucks (I paid 6 euro's for a cheese sandwich - what was the cheese made of? gold?).

Also the Delhi - Frankfurt leg is flown by Airbus 340-600, which should all have seatback TV by April in coach.

I've flown Lufthansa to Europe, I find their service to be better than most airlines I've flown on.

We flew Air India (not arranged by us) and it was not good. Either from New York to New Delhi or return. Worn seats, dirty toilets, stained carpeting.

When we have flown Lufthansa, the facilities were fine, service smooth, and baggage handling OK.

We flew Lufthansa last year (Business Class)to Venice via Gemany then from Rome back home--perhaps you should ask "how good is it?" instead of how bad. It is United's int'l partner--we flew UA to Bangkok this past October then from Beijing back home--we paid to updrade to Economy Plus---this was a surprise trip for us or we would have saved our miles for Business Class as that was a very long flight---both were fine--too many upetty people with too many big ideas--same with people thinking the Royal Orhid Sheraton was just okay--it was wonderful--if someone would travel that distance to just stick thmeselves in a hotel and only enjoy a bar or spa--they should stay home--Lufthansa was great!
