my husband and myself want to take a holiday out of India in Jan 2013 but not spend too much. Well, if you are looking for a budget holiday, cross the Maldives off your list.

Indonesia is a good option for you - Bali or for more adventure, one of the other islands. The Philippines might suit you as well.

Sorry, I've never been to the Philippines, so can't help you with specifics. Do take a look at a guidebook for the Philippines. I know they have some lovely beaches.

"Budget" is also affected by the conversion rate of the Rupee to wherever you travel. Budget for a US traveller may not work for someone from India.
