Andy called this am from a chair in the ICU. Vision is the same. They have him on steroids for the swelling. Hoping for improvement of the vision as the swelling goes down. He really appreciated all you candles, and the fact that everyone is being kept in the loop. Sounded very upbeat and hopes for Dicharge on Thurs. Beth is hanging in there.

Karen its good to have this update. I saw the postings on this forum yesterday (I hadn't been reading the forum for a while) & then hoped, as I opened the page today, that all would be well. Like many others I don't know Andy, but know of his great sense of humour (together with that of Bob) & send all good wishes to him & Beth.

Really good news considering all he went through yesterday. Great to hear that he is sitting in a chair, talking on the phone and is upbeat. Discharge on Thursday, that's truly amazing. Glad too that he knew /now knows about all of us rooting for him.

Hey, Andy, nice timely reporting. No penalty.
We toasted your successful journey through surgery over some of that South Beauty Gong bao ji ding that you like so much. It is still fabulous with some complex flavors that I have never tasted in the kung pao chicken you get in the other People's Republic stateside. You will have to have some on your next trip to China.
Keep that recovery going well. It will take awhile for the swelling to abate...

Hey Panda! I have been moving along on my trip report so you will have something to look forward to once you get home!! It is a wonder there has not been a raging conflagration with all these candles!

You know Andy, this is really fantastic, this is so fabulous that you are already doing email. Really a miracle, There is no keeping you down is there??? Great news indeed. May go home tomorrow? really, that's Wednesday and the op was Monday. Hang in there Beth, I can only imagine how tough these last several days have been for you.
I actually lit a Thai Lemongrass candle for Andy and the essence of Thailand filled my kitchen as I sent my prayers skywards. I buy this wonderful fragrance through mail order and Love their candles and perfumes, they make a Thai Lemongrass candle in a tin, with a lid for travel and I always take them with me on my trips.
One whif of Thai Lemongrass or the Tiger Balm smell and I'm in BKK! but it was exactly the right whisps of essence coming off the flame to unite the love of Thailand and heartfelt thoughts for Andy.
LOL at Rizzuto's comments. Great that humor is on the menu.
