We're almost ready to go. Larger suitcases are packed and ready to be picked up today by Kuroneko...sending ahead to the airport.

Tomorrow morning bright and early, my daughter and I will take the once daily flight from Komatsu (near Kanazawa) to Narita, arriving in Narita at 9:00 am.

We'll have the whole day in Narita, so our plan is to go to Boso no Mura - Edo village museum. It's our first time to Narita outside of the airport, so we're going to also do a bit of exploring. We will not go into Tokyo at all - well, we aren't planning to anyway.

We're spending the night at the Narita Hilton. The two of us with breakfast and tax included costs 9500 yen total for the night. I made the reservation directly with the hotel. Husband will join us Saturday morning and we'll do something not yet planned until we need to go back over to the airport for 4:00 pm departure.

We'll then be outside of Boston and outside of NYC for 2 weeks..then back to Japan, to Centrair and a night at the Nagoya Hilton.

Kim: Well, we don't get a "reverse post" very often, with someone here coming from Japan to the U.S.! I hope your trip is great and that the heat here is the eastern U.S. lets up for you next week. As usual, you got a great rate at the Hilton. Your rate is inspiring me to check out the hilton next spring for our last night before Narita departure.

kimjapan; can you tell me more about the museum after your visit? with a 5-6 hour layover on the way to sing or bkk, this might be a good option.

I seriously doubt the heat in the states will even be noticed by us...it's crazy hot and humid here now....36 degrees C yesterday (97 F) and so humid you can't breathe.

The Hilton rate started out a month ago at 23,000 yen, and decreased over the past month. I just kept checking and changing my reservation. Today the rate is 11,500 yen. I'll also post a review of the hotel...it's our first time there, too. If you have points with Hilton, the points rate is terrific...only 10,000 points per night for a free stay - one of the best deals in HHonors.

Thanks so much for your kind offer. My family has lived in Princeton since I was a child, and the last place I lived in the states was Boston. We are all set! We used to eat I think at the same Thai restaurant you like...it's in Cleveland Circle, isn't it?

The Thai Restaurant referred to many times is not in Cleveland Circle, but on Harvard St. between Beacon St. and Commonwealth Ave.. It's name is Dok Bua and its address is 411 Harvard St. It can get crowded after 7:00 p.m..

Hopefully, you are a Red Sox fan.
