Leaving for Singapore, KL and Bangkok in 2 days?

Thanks to everyone on this Board and especially the posters in Asia. Family wants us to postpone the trip. Has anyone heard from friends in KL? We are flying in to Singapore on 1/1 and the hotel tells me they have no problem. Also spoke to the manager at the RSO and he says Bangkok is ok. Any reassurance from the Board will help me convince my children. Thanks to everyone. Johanna

Thank you Clear for the response. I have come to this Board before every trip. If I listened to my family and friends I would never travel. Last summer went to Czech rep, krakow, warsaw, lithuania and latvia alone but I begin to waver until I find there are so many travelers keeping their plans. Thank you

None of those cities had any direct impact from the quake or the wave. Do go and enjoy!

All those areas are fine. Some 'movement' was felt in some high rises in BKK but that was all, KL and SIn no problems either. I am about 2 hrs east of BKK and knew nothing until seeing TV.

There's no problem with Bangkok, KL or Singapore.

BTW I'm from Singapore.

I'm sure you're going to have a good time.

Did you see travelbunny's posting that blood is needed in the areas affected by the disaster? Perhaps you and your family could donate blood during your visit to Thailand.
