I am heading to Bangkok for the first time and would welcome any advice. Would also apprecaite your travel logue. <BR>I will be traveling alone. Any concerns for safety?

Am traveling to Laos in Feb. Will be in Vientienne 3 days and Luang Prabang 2 days. Staying in Le Parasol Blanc Hotels both cities. Have not been able to find much info from other travelers about things to do and see. Also your opinion of the country and its people. Have been to Bangkok so don't need that info. Thanks
