Kyoto or Tokyo?

They have museums and history in both cities, but if you wan want to experience Tokyo, I'd say that's where you should go.
I prefer Kyoto myself. It's a more manageable city for walking and wandering and has more historical shops, neighborhoods and buildings.

Please say more about yourself and your hopes for this trip. I am in Kyoto now and was in Tokyo last week so the differences between your two candidate cities are uppermost in mind.
Like Lcuy (above), I prefer Kyoto if a choice is required. It is one of my favorite cities. Each time I visit Tokyo, I like it better and better though.
It is also incredibly easy to fly into KIX (Kansai International airport) for me, but I don't know where you are from and what route choices you are contemplating.
