Kristina's trip to Rome
Yes, yes, I know this is the Asia board.
Gpanda, please don't penalize me!
I thought that those of you who know me and have read my various trip reports to Asia here might want to step outside the box for a moment and check out my trip to Rome over on the Europe board.

I spent Easter week in Rome with my husband and two friends and we had a fabulous time.
Of course, photos are on my website.

The report is still in process, but I started it and have been keeping it up in a very timely manner, so hopefully no penalties there.
Gpanda, do you even have authority outside the Asia board? ;-)

I've been everywhere in the lower 48 and Europe many times. It's not a lack of other destiantions it's mostly passion for Asia. Why bother penalizing for tardiness when I'm not that interested in the reports, of course, with the exception of your Rome trip, K.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!
Liz-yes, the pasta was fab. I want to try and make it at home (I even asked them how). We went back for a 2nd night (coming up in the report) and it was just as good the 2nd time. The grilled scmorza was good too, but like any melted cheese, it firmed up as it cooled and all I could think was, "That's what is going to do in my stomach too".

Kristina-
This recipe is very good. It isn't exactly like Armando's, but it's a start.

Liz-The waiter told me it was just olive oil, cheese and arugula. I don't think there was any lemon or basil in it.
I wonder if the "alla verde" changes with the seasons? That would make sense, if it were just a generic name for the menu.

Liz-Tonight I made my own version of the pasta alla verde, combining of a couple of the pastas we had on the trip:
Spaghetti with Arugula and Pancetta.
I put the recipe and a photo on my website:

There are a lot more days posted since my last post on this thread.
Day 8 coming soon...

Liz and Kristina - thanks for the recipes. We were in Rome and then in Sorrento a couple of years ago, so we had lots with lemon (I had a fabulous seafood ravioli with lemon sauce in Sorrento and I'm wondering if Liz'a sauce will be similar).
Kristina - I'm glad you posted this link here. I loved reading about your Thailand trip and "stole" some ideas for our upcoming trip in June/July. it's always nice to see where else fodorites are traveling)
