Koh Chang Mid-Range Hotel

Can anyone be able to recommend a good mid-range hotel/resort to stay at in Koh Chang? My husband, 13 year old son and I are planning to go for five nights in early April.

My first thought was to stay at Barali which looks fantastic but it is going to be a bit over our price range. We are now interested in the Koh Chang Paradise Resort or the Koh Chang Kacha Resort and Spa. Has anyone stayed at either of these Resorts or is there anywhere else worth looking into?

Also the Koh Chang Kacha is on the White Sands beach, is this as nice as the beach at Klong Prao?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thx

Which website are you looking @ for prices? We stayed @ barali last year and it was about $90 a night I think.
I forgot the name of the beach barali is on, but it was awesome! Several times we were the only people on the beach in either direction! If you stay @ barali, don't spend the extra for the beach front as the other bungalows are just steps away from the water.

we too stayed at barali using the www.huahin.20m.com site to book our stay....i think we paid in the $80 range about 2 years ago, right after travelduo....

paradise is right next door....we ate there several times as their food is far superior to barali....i think barali is nicer but paradise is newish and quite nice....food is fantastic...

Thanks for all your responses.

I have been looking around at a lot of different sites for the resort prices. The cheapest rates I have found for Barali was on http://www.koh-chang.com - a Deluxe Room is 3,800 Baht at the time we will be there plus 1,000 Baht for an extra bed. Forgot to mention earlier that I am from Australia so this would mean about 170 Aussie Dollars a night.

Paradise is actually not much cheaper than Barali but the Kacha Resort is a fair bit cheaper.

I couldn't find any Koh Chang hotels on the www.huahin.20m.com website. Only Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Hua Hin hotels.
