KL during ramadan
Hi
It looks like I will be going to KL again soon and I will be there in the middle of ramadan. How does this affect every day life in KL? Will it be a "problem" for a visitor?
Regards

Gard, someone else just asked that - look for their post.
We were in KL at Ramadan several years ago. It does have some impact, but will certainly not spoil your vacation. A couple of Malaysian restaurants we wanted to try were closed for all of Hari Raya. But there were plenty of excellent restaurants that were open.

You'll only be able to eat at Chinese and Indian or rather non-Muslim restaurants before sundown. Make sure you go for one of those Buka Puasa (breaking of fast) buffets in one of the top 5-star restaurants. You'll see the Muslims all waiting until a certain time and the buffet table will be groaning with food, including special delicacies, all very festive. Also around the late afternoon there'll be many stalls selling food which many Muslims buy to take home. It's one of my favourite seasons to visit as ther'll be food that is only sold that time of the year.

Hi guys and greetings from KL I'm back in KL now...our trip didn't start out any good as our flight from Stavanger was delayed for one hour. Due to this we did not catch our plane to Frankfurt and had to stay the night in Oslo. But the next morning we flew to KL via Frankfurt with Malaysia Airlines. There was a lot of turbulence during the flight so it was impossible to sleep We landed at 6 am and the skies were constantly lit up by lightning. Now we are at the Traders hotel and this is the view from my colleagues hotel room: http://bp2.blogger.com/_pLrg6eMZW9o/...-38-774148.jpe
Keep an eye on the blog http://gardmobile.blogspot.com/ and I'll post some pictures during my stay here. It was nice to be back here in Malaysia. As we are heading towards winter at home it was nice to land here and experience 25 degrees already at 6 am. So now I have to try to get through the first day awake....always a bit a of struggle when you are jet-lagged
