Kathie, Are You Out There?

Hi, Kathie--
I'm having trouble finding your November 2006 report which includes Penang--probably because so many people have added to the thread making it hard to locate it by date. Could you post a direct link? Thanks.

Thank you, Kathie, for topping the report. I had read it months ago, but now that our Borneo trip is just ahead (October) and we will be spending four nights on Penang, I wanted to get back to it to see what little gems I could pick up. Problem with reading it is now I wish I were going to Thailand this time, too. Ah, so many places.....

Have you read my Borneo report? It should come up with a search on Borneo. If it doesn't, let me know and I'll top it for you.

Yes, I did read it and vividly remember the leech incident. I'll look for it again but may take you up on your topping offer. Thanks again. So, so looking forward to our trip, and much of the enjoyment is anticipatory--reading through trip reports, etc.

Jed, thanks for the link. I don't know if it was me or if it was Fodors, but I could not get the link to work the other day!

It was... I wrote it down as initially I thought it was a problem with copying and pasting. But when I checked the link by clicking on it in preview, it said that page is no longer available on Fodors!

Well, Kathie, I suspect that, after you clicked on "Preview my Reply", you clicked on the URL which appeared on the

screen on the top on the right, which contains the URL in duplicate.

If you go down to the bottom of the thread on the left, it is singular, and should work. Try it out.

Hi, Everyone--
I did get into the Penang thread o.k. But now, Kathie, could you top the Borneo report for me?
Lonely Planet just published a Borneo guidebook, and I spent several hours with it yesterday going through the sections on the history, things to see and do, the flora and fauna, food--all those things. Also, reading carefully the sections pertaining to our itinerary, of course. We will be in the north--the Malaysia part of the island with a couple of days in Kuala Lumpur and four nights on Penang. Guidebooks are wonderful, but there's nothing like a well written trip report. I did read your reports several months ago when we were first beginning to consider Borneo, but I want to re-read. You put so much of yourself into them. So enjoyable. If you could find your Borneo report and top it, that would be great. When I do a search under your name it's hard to locate the specific post I'm looking for since they come up in the order of the last post, not the first, and you've contributed so, so much. Thanks again.
Barbara

Jed, I have to admit that I couldn't figure out your instructions at all. But I did what I did before and it worked this time. For some of us, the universe is random. Thanks for your effort to make it less random for me!
