meow?

Last night my husband started looking up restaurants in Chiang Rai and came across several reviews for "cat cafes" including: best cat cafe ever! and worst cat cafe ever: the cats ate our cheesecake and the owner wouldn't let us use the pool table.

we were rolling on the floor. Is this truly a "thing?"

Cat cafes are a "thing" in many places, for instance, Tokyo and several large European cities. I have not been to a cat cafe in Thailand.

Google it and you will find lots of info.

A lot of cat cafes in Taipei. Great fun - if you like cats...

Lots of animal cafes in Japan in general, ads all over the places. Heard they can be expensive or depressing, though.

The cheesecake thing cracks me up. Eat around cats, learn to defend your food with a fork. Of course I have a 100+ pound dog who thinks he’s being nice when he taste tests my beer so a cat would not get anywhere close to my cheesecake lol.

Cat,dog and sheep cafes in Seoul and probably a few other animals as well. Not quite sure where the sheep end up when they grow too big! They are all beautifully washed and groomed.

Just been reminded there are now racoon ones and recently a meerkat cafe. Also one with a tortoise and iguana.

Don't think so - I haven't been there though. I understand that like most of the non-cat type cafes that the animals are separated from the eating area and you have to wait for a designated cuddle time. Don't think I would want to try with some of the animals.

The sheep cafe has 2 sheep but apart from being beautifully combed and in an enclosure, I would rather go up the paddock and talk to our mob and come back for a coffee without them. Ours don't think cuddles are a good idea and since they certainly aren't well groomed nor do I.
