Japan End of December - Early January

Dear Travel Forum:

Our family is traveling to Japan in late December and put together the following outline for our itinerary. Does this make sense? Want to make sure we get to know the places we visit while at the same time not skipping an important location. Thank you for any recommendations/insights. Without knowing anything of your interests, your allotments of time for Tokyo and Kyoto are generally in line with first-visit plans. I don't know Gunma or how easy / difficult getting to / from would be.

If you haven't already done so, I encourage you to spend time -- a lot of it! -- with japan-guide.com and JNTO's website.

I don't know what " 5Gunma/ Japanese Alps " means. Gunma is a prefecture and is outside the region of the Japanese Alps.

That is a peak travel time in Japan.
