Jan-Feb Thailand vs Bali
I've been reading alot of posts and have personally decided that Bali might be the better choice in terms of privacy, safety and monetary expenses. However, is the rainy season in Bali during Jan-Feb reason enough to look elsewhere?
Thailand or maybe even Malaysia.
Thanx for the advice

privacy...not sure what you mean??
bali is very cheap and you can go there at all levels of expense...if you are coming from korea it is further of course than is thailand...
thailand is very reasonable and can be done on a grand scale for a reasonable price or on a back-packer budget (as can bali)....bali has more of a religious feel to it....i mean this in a positive way....its sort of an overriding halo....thailand is commerce first...
thailand is my #1 all around and i can and will return there as often as possible...bali was great for a week and i would return there if time permitted, but i have no drive to return there...we are glad we went but we did say we thought it is now pushed low on our list of return visits...thailand remains #1 even after 6 visits in 10 years....
i think you get more bang for your busk in thailand...it is very diverse in every way as well... you can have city, you can have rural, you can have sex, you can have religion, and of course it must have about the best and cheapest shopping in the whole world...

I have been to both Bali and Thailand and enjoyed both. I would recommend not going to Bali in the rainy season, however, as you may have to spend most of the time indoors. Jan-Feb is a good time to go to Thailand, as it will be relatively cool (for Thailand). I have also been to Malaysia, but much prefer Thailand.

Also, in case you haven't done so already, go to weatherbase.com and check out the average monthly rainfall for Bali compared to Bangkok. Bali gets almost 14 inches in Jan and just over 11 inches in Feb compared to under 1 inch in Jan and just over 1 inch in Feb for Bangkok. Need I say more?
