Itinerary- Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos

Hello,

My itinerary has changed. I decided not to go to Sapa. I will be going to Luang Prabang, Laos instead. In January the weather may be restrictive in Sapa.

Itinerary; Vietnam - Saigon 1 1/2 days, HoiAn 3 days, Luang Prabang 3 days, Siem Reap 3 1/2 days, Halong Bay 2 days one night and Hanoi 3 days. What do you think?

Have you figured in your travel time? That is, do you have three full days in LP or is part of it travel time? If you have that much time in each place, I think it's a good, balanced itinerary.

Skip Luang Prabang and add Ninh Binh:

Have you been to Luang Prabang also?? I am planning a similar trip and was considering Luang Prabang and Halong Bay but after seeing your photos am wondering if this area you describe will be just as interesting and maybe less touristy.

How do you get there from Hanoi? How long does it take to get there?

Also, we would be there in November, any idea if this is a malarial zone?
Thanks.

Just putting in my two cents. Last Nov. I went to Luang Prabang because there was flooding in Hoi An area. It was like heaven, so peaceful. Just had the tuk tuk drop us off at a place I just picked, not fancy. LP is the greatest place, so cheap and very nice. Don't miss it. Alana

looks rather ambitious - 6 cities and from one end of Vietnam to the other plus over to SR in 16 days.

If your travel days are included in those days I would suggest cutting back a bit.

Sa Pa is amazing, but better a spring/summer visit than a January.
