Islands other than Koh Samui

I am looking for an island other than Koh Samui (needs to be on the Gulf Side: Honeymoon in July). We love 5 star resorts, beautiful views, and lots of relaxation!

We will be staying at the Oriental in Bangkok, so are looking for that calliber while in the islands.

Thank you!

There aren't too many "Oriental" caliber places on the Gulf side, other than Four Seasons and a few other places on Koh Samui. One option, that will be opening shortly, is this: http://www.sixsenses.com/soneva-kiri/index.php

I've stayed at another the Six Senses properties (in Vietnam) and the service was on par with the Oriental....really really lovely.

Not much on the gulf side other than Samui. Have you investigated Koh Chang?

There simply aren't 5* resorts on the other islands on the gulf side. I think best you can hope for is the new Six Senses that cruisinred suggested if you want to avoid Samui. Santhiya in Ko Pha Ngan is on a beautiful beach but is nowhere near the calibre of the Oriental.

Four Seasons on Samui is lovely however. There are some lovely spa resorts on Samui now - Sala Samui has private pools and is v popular with honeymooners but is a bit more boutique than large 5* resort.

Maybe from Bangkok you should fly to Bali? Plenty of the type of resort you are looking for there.
