I am shocked (shocked!) at these allegations. I think it should be apparent to all that someone on this forum - someone who was offended by Ask O's posts - put out a contract on AskO. Tong was merely the instrument of this contract. I had no idea, however, that Tong was a crack addict. I suppose that explains her stints in the hospital (rehab, anyone?). And that explains why someone so kind would consent to such a deasterdly deed ($$ for drugs). Now, all we have to do is to figure out who put the contract out on AskO... Murder on the Orient Express, redux.

;-)

Oh, and Bill, let me remind you that AskO would not be wearing a mink and carrying a dog, as after all, she is a dog. Borzoi, if I remember correctly.

Well, I had to go back and read the D'Sens thread in order to understand a lot of the references on this one. I don't know why I bother to travel at all when there's so much entertainment to be found here.

I think KimJapan's daughter Teaghan said it best...

Travelduo got his $.02 in, I want to add my $.04. Our day with Tong was so much fun that we have booked her agian for this year. She has so much energy and enthusiasm she ran circles around us old folks.(Not hard to do with Bob in tow.) She was very concerned about his comfort and safty, and went out of her way to find a solution to him being in the sun too long.

AO having lived thru your email tiraid to Bob, I am sure there is a wake of others behind you. If you have so many problems why do you leave home? Please leave the rest of the world to us happy travelers.

Here is my 3 cents: Each night of my visit to Bangkok, after I spent a day with her, Tong phoned me to inquire about a small problem I had with my foot. This went way beyond what I would expect from anyone!

Still want to read the tale of AO's SE Asia odyssey!

This may be one of the rare instances in which a penalty is assessed very soon after a return from Asia.

We traveled with Tan at the beginning of February. I would e-mail her at [email protected]. She is OUTSTANDING.

I'll join the chorus:

There are certain people you meet in this world who can connect in a meaningful way with ANYONE. Tong is one of those people. She's just a wonderful person from the ground up. There's something that feels wrong about your generalization of her. I don't know how anyone could get those vibes from her.

It's sort of a shame that AskOsana does not understand that negative comments need not be personal. My memory is that there were many posters who freely shared their thoughts concerning her plans for her trip. She has chosen to repay that kindness with a personal attack on one of our favorites. Karma is a very powerful force in the universe.

For someone ...........

"obsessed with money, "

Tong did herself in by buying my son who was celebrating his 14th bday a cake & giving a very significant (not the 100 BHT that some others quibble about!) discount at her husband's optical, fought with me when I paid for food she wanted us to try , paid for Moby Dick's cousins bread when we fed them by the temple, buy at least one item from any vendor (disabled or pitiful looking ) who came to sell her anything.

I could go on & on & surely you can all chime in with many instances of generosity & graciousness .

Will join Karen about how caring Tong is......I have imposed a ban on any of my kids making any unneccessary noises or whines or grunts (you know, the normal sounds that come out of teenagers!) since Tong is always on the look out & asking "Are you OK? Are you OK?"

Kim, Okaeri........ my kids thought the same about her. Only in a different language !!!

She has become such a part of our family that when we said goodbye, she was in tears. The feeling is obviously mutual that we are planning on our 4th TONG/BKK visit.

This message is directed towards the person who was extremely rude towards the most wonderful tour guide in Bangkok whose name is TONG. Defacing her character and name is unacceptable. There are to many of us that have had TONG as a guide in Bangkok that think of her as WONDERFUL, FUN LOVING and KOWLEDGEABLE--You seem to be the only person who is so negative towards her--perhaps it is you and not TONG--perhaps you should apologize to her and perhaps you should remove yourself from this board. There is enough saddness and negativsm is the world without all these pathetic comments; especially false statements--too many of us have had wonderful experiences with her - SHAME ON YOU!
