I am booking a Maldives trip and trying to choose between Cocoa Island and Huvafen Fushi - I know the snorkelling is excellent at Cocoa but would appreciate any comments from people who have stayed at Huvafen Fushi with regards snorkelling?

I thought the snorkeling off of Huvafen was excellent. I really don't have a good base to compare though. The only comparison I have is the Four Seasons. I thought that the snorkeling there was mediocre with limited spots to actually snorkel. Huvafen's snorkeling was about 5x better. We saw squid, dolphins and a giant manta also came within 6 feet of me. The manta must have been lost or something...but it was quite a thrill. Again, nothing other than the 4 Seasons to compare it to though. That said, I thought that the snorkeling was excellent with multiple points of entry. We actually snorkeled all the way around the island one day. That said, the snorkeling on one side is much better than the other. Hope that helps.
