Is Burma over run by tourism? Should I skip Burma and go to Chiang Mai?

The only thing that look pricey are the transfers. Sartoric has been there more recently than I have, but my memory is that Yangon airport into town was $10 flat rate, Mandalay was more like $30-35 to/from the airport - maybe they are getting more traffic now, but when we were there, there were no taxis waiting. In Bagan the taxi transfer should be 6000 kyat, about $6. HeHo to our hotel was more like $50 as I remember, but that was long enough ago that there must now be more taxis available.
If it were me - and it isn't - I'd take taxis in Yangon and Bagan. HeHo and Mandalay I'd be more inclined to use the transfers.
Overall, the price looks reasonable to me.

Why thanks everyone. The hotels are reasonable, and flights also. I did think the transfers were pricey also. The Balloon Festival was a private car pick up at 5pm and waiting tip 2am. So that's why the $160. And I was advise it might go higher. The Festival draws 20,000 people so to get to and back to my hotel, I felt having transport was essential. A bit of a splurge for sure.
I arrive just shy of midnight to Yangon, so thinking that's where I should def have a transfer waiting for me. But can arrange the rest on my own.
Why Kathie are you more incline to use the transfer for HeHo and Mandalay?
Well almost there will the planning. I feel good about the time spent in each place and excited about trekking. Soon will start planning Thailand. But thinking that's a country I can make arrangements on my own.
Cheers
