India Travelogue

For those of you who enjoy reading travelogues then please feel free to read mine about a recent trip to India.

We visited Delhi, Sarnath, Varanasi, Khajuraho, Orchha, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Jaipur, Pushkar, Ranakpur and Udaipur.

There are also hundreds of photographs to alieviate the boredom!

Colin- great blog...I was just going to peek and am only now finishing page 7! Having toured India several times, it is fun to hear your "first timer" views. Sounds like you were very lucky to book a "group tour" and end up with just the four of you.

BTW, after reading your comments on the frequent use of of swastikas in religious settings....Did you know that the arms of Indian Swastika go in the opposite direction of the Nazi one?

Gotta go to work now. Can't wait to finish later.

Thanks!

WOW, Colin you are a very gifted writer. I was hooked from page one! The photos and videos were wonderful as well. Great sense of humor and very descriptive writing I felt as though I was there with you.
I am going to a number of those places myself in January.
What website did you use? I love it.

Thank you both for taking the time out to reply.
I'm glad you are enjoying it !

lcuy - I hope one day to be a seasoned traveller of India. The country just blew me away. But I also hope I never lose the "first time" awe of visting a new destination. Where would you suggest for me to visit next ?

live42day - I'm actually not using any website provider but have created the site independently. It's easier than you think. Have a great time on your visit in January. You'll love it!

Do you have to pay monthly for the site? I used to have my own through Yahoo but it cost me monthly so I eventually dropped it.
Can you provide me with any details? This is exactly what I am looking for and have not found any other that fits my want list.

I use a company called www.123-reg.co.uk and have done for over 8 years now.

I registered my domain name with them. colin-julie.com and then used them to manage the hosting. I chose their Starter Pro Plus package which costs £50 a year which they'll take in a single payment. It may sound a lot but it affords you total freedom to design and create your own website.

There are cheaper options with less available space.

I use a software called Dreamweaver to create my web pages but you can equally use Microsoft Word for the basic layout such as I have.

Have fun and I look forward to the launch of your webpage!

I really enjoyed your blog Colin -- and your photos. Having been to some of the same places just a few weeks after you, it brought to mind some of those wonderful moments and feelings that we also had while there. Thanks so much for posting your link. trav
