I will be flying into BKK in the evening; what is the best way to get to Hua Hin from the airport? Is there a shuttle or car service?

The best way is to prearrange a car and driver to meet you and take you there. I've recommended a driver to a couple of Fodorites and he has met them and took them safely to Hua Hin from the airport. He drives a Toyota minivan type metered taxi and has a/v for the trip as well as wifi internet in his car. So far he has been very reliable and on time and his contact info is as follow:

Last year it was 2,200 Baht from BKK to HH. Peter seem very polite and he has driven both Filmwill and Evelyne. Perhaps they will chime in.

Was waiting at the arrivals area at BKK, sign in hand. Communication was easy enough. Comfortable van and the wifi was a nice touch to help bide the time on the drive there. I think he even had karaoke -- but I can't imagine that would've been fun without Pook and the gang to participate.

Agree with filmwill , we used Peter for tranfer from bkk to hua hin at 10pm , great service and on time , he picked us up for the return to bangkok hotel and back to airport. Would not hesitate to use his services again.
