When asking about a relatively remote train station in Japan, it's helpful to mention the town name or the prefecture.
Takefu station is in the town of Echizen, about 4 train stations south of Fukui city in Fukui Prefecture. It's a 5.5 hour train from Tokyo, or 2 hours from Kyoto.
There is a Hotel Crown Hills right next to Takefu Station on the JR line.
There's a Hotel Route Inn in Sabae (the next station to the north) and lots more hotels in Fukui city, a little more north still.
Go to Booking.com. Type in your dates and either Echizen, Japan or Fukui city Japan and it will show you hotels that are available for your dates..

I thought Takefu sounded familiar...thanks for pinpointing it, lcuy.
I was there last year to visit the Echizen Washi Village, but I didn't stay there. I stayed in Fukui about twenty minutes away by Limited Express train. It is a small town - I don't remember seeing anything too outstanding on my way to the EWV on the bus.
