Hiroshima - Ryokan or hotel near train station?

We''ve found this forum to be most helpful as we plan our upcoming trip from Toronto to Asia. So many tips that everyone is willing to share - such a great community!

Hoping for some recommendations for a ryokan or hotel near the main train station in Hiroshima, as we're there for only one day and have an early morning train to Tokyo the following day.

Clean, quiet and comforble are important, as is price. Don't want to spend over $120 if possible.

Cheers,
Pamela

Well the Hiroshima Granvia Hotel will be close to that price. I think we paid $135.00 last year with the discount given on our JR pass. Very convenient as it is connected to main JR station

Aloha!

You will be hard pressed to find a hotel in Hiroshima for more than 150 usd.

Hiroshima is small (1 million people) and for Japan standards the taxis are cheap.

Great place to visit, and eye opening too.

I wouldn't do the ryokan - you will be stressed out if you're leaving early in the morning, and you should really have time to savor that experience.

Hi everyone - many thanks for your insights! I really need to get on this in the next few days. Wishing we had more than one day to savor the area.
Cheers,
Pamela
