Hotel Hanoi - HELP

Hello There:

The hotels in Hanoi have been a bit of a challenge for me. In no particular order here are my requirements:
**air conditioning in rooms and lobby,
**western breakfast included in rate,
**not too far off the beaten path as I will be traveling alone,
**internet access in lobby,
**under $100USD,
**a tour desk would be helpful.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Several years ago, the DeSyloia met all of those criteria. I don't know what the rates are now, but do check the usual places, www.agoda.com www.asiarooms.com and such. At the time I was there the internet access was in an office, not in the lobby. There was no tour desk, per se, but the staff were enormously helpful, and set up a car and driver for us for one day at our request.

There is an excellent VN restaurant in the hotel, CauCau.

Well, I just looked at the hotel booking sites and didn't find it. The hotel's own website is www.desyloia.com and they do show single rooms this summer (including breakfast, etc) for US$90, but here is a 10% tax. Take a look at the website, as they may have some specials I didn't see.

Kathie, does the DeSyloia have an elevator (lift)? I can't tell from the web site.

Yes, it does have an elevator/lift. Just one small one. We thought this hotel was really a find. When we were there we had a suite for $95 a night. I was amazed to see just how much prices have gone up!
