Hi. Does anybody know any hotel at Tambunan, Sabah, Malaysia – just about anything will do, I just need it to sleep there after coming down from the Crocker Range and before going to Ranau next morning? I know about the Borneo Heritage Village (formerly known as the Tambunan Village Resort Center) but it is somewhat inconveniently located out of the town wit its access to public transport.

Besides. I have read about bad shape of road from Tambunan to Ranau. Does anybody know about current situation of this road with respect to the public buses/microbuses going along it? I should be there this August. Thanks.

Sorry, I can't help with that question. When you get that far off the beaten path, you may find that the ThornTree is your best resource. There are people who post there who live in the area.

hi, just to update, i have found a place to stay in Tambunan that actually offers cheap rooms at a place called TVRC, the place that i booked was Waang Backpackers Motel, not too bad i guess but at least the rooms are cheap for basic needs. They told me they can arrange a transport for tourist to go about. Since im only gonna be there for the climb, i dont need pricey rooms. Looking forward to this trip!!
